Basilica of Our Lady in Trastevere

first Basilica we visited was the first church ever dedicated to Mother
Mary and the first church in which mass was openly celebrated, the
Basilica of Our Lady in Trastevere.
The dome of the church has art by Antonio Gherardi. Our guide, Father Paolo, stressed that this is unique as it is one of the rare works wherein the Mother Mary is

I did not plan to make another trip to Europe this year, not after London last May. But when the opportunity to attend the canonization of Saint Pedro Calungsod came up, there was no question about it: we had to attend. I justified that anyways it would be my first real vacation after five years of my 'day job'.
